MWD Veteran Shiv Murti Joins LEE + RO as Principal Electrical Engineer

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. January 28, 2021 – LEE + RO, Inc., today announced that Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) veteran Shiv Murti, P.E., has joined the company as a principal electrical engineer. He has four decades of electrical and controls engineering experience in water treatment and conveyance, coal-fired power plants, nuclear plants, and oil refineries.

Murti has an extensive history of supervising, reviewing, and approving the design of electrical instrumentation and SCADA/control systems including process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical control diagrams, wiring and plan drawings, overseeing construction, start-up support, as well as instrumentation and control system purchasing.

In his role as a senior engineer at MWD, Murti’s responsibilities covered reviewing and approving consultants’ specifications and design documents. He also managed the development of specification packages for Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and was responsible for configuration and field testing of thousands of I/O points in the SCADA database for five MWD water treatment plants and six pumping plants. Prior to joining MWD, Murti was a senior engineer at Bechtel Power Corporation where he worked on electrical controls for coal-fired power plants, nuclear plants, and oil refineries.

Murti received his M.S. and his B.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India and he is a California-registered professional engineer (electrical).
